TANNIC [CF] SERUM is a stable formula of potent active natural ingredients in high concentration

1 An ultra-antioxidant action : reinforced by stabilized vitamin C and Tannic acid, the latest antioxidant discovered by Alphascience

2 A very high cellular repair action with Ferulic acid combined to stabilized L-ascorbic acid

 TANNIC ACID, LONGEVITY INGREDIENT

ALPHASCIENCE EXCLUSIVITY

Tannic acid is an outstanding ingredient, a polyphenol issued from nature.

Tannic acid is particularly present in the bark of Sequoia to protect it from diseases, parasites and fungi, this explains its exceptional lifespan: some sequoia specimens may well exceed 3,000 years.

For the first time, Alphascience managed to use highly concentrated tannic acid in its formulations for exceptional protective results.

It is highly synergistic with Vitamin C and empowers its antioxidant activity inhabiting the Fenton reaction[1].

– The antioxidant activity of tannic acid is mainly attributed to its redox properties, which allow him to act as reducing agent, hydrogen donor and quenchers of singlet oxygen.

– In addition, Tannic acid inhibits hydroxyl radical formation from Fenton reaction by complexing ferrous ions [2]

Comparison of protective capacities of Tannic Acid with reference antioxidants:

H2O2 scavenging activity % Ferrous ion chelating activity Superoxide scavenging activity
BHA 36.4 69.9 75.3
BHT 34.3 60.0 70 .2
Alpha Tocopherol 39.3 31.3 22.2
Trolox 25.5 45 .2 16.0
Tannic Acid 52.8 66.8 69.1

Efficacy of tannic acid (TA) on the endothelium of small blood vessels and the capillaries.

We can explain this effect by its anti ROS activity on the protection of the endothelium. The chelation properties can also help to avoid iron deposit in the skin following vascular injuries[3]

Tannic acid as a plant-derived polyphenol exerts vasoprotection via enhancing KLF2 (Kruppel-like factor 2) expression in endothelial cells. Tannic acid is a potent KLF2 activator that attenuates endothelial inflammation. Collectively, results demonstrate that TA is a potent KLF2 activator and TA attenuated endothelial inflammation through upregulation of KLF2[4].

Tannic acid properties:

– Powerful antioxidant and metal scavenger. Chelates iron.

– Neutralized hydrogen peroxyde

– Anti-pollutants

– Improves blood clotting and reduces blood vessels inflammation

– Regulates pigmentation

– Stimulates collagen synthesis

VITAMIN C IN ITS NATURAL FORM (L-ASCORBIC ACID), STABILIZED AT 10%

In its natural form (L- ascorbic acid), Vitamin C is one of the most effective an- ti-aging ingredients but also the most unstable:

  • in surface, L-ascorbic acid boosts epidermis turnover to increase skin radiance and refine skin texture[1].
  • At dermal level  numerous studies[2][3][4] proved that L-ascorbic acid boosts collagen synthesis to reduce wrinkles and smooth the skin.
  • It is also one of the most powerful anti-free radicals able to protect from oxidative factors responsible for the premature aging of the skin (UV, stress, pollution[5]
  • Blocks melanin transfer through a weakening action on dendritis[6]

The vitamin C is not synthetized by human body and needs external intake.

How do we stabilize L-Ascorbic Acid in high concentration?

Natural form of Vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid) is the most powerful and the most unstable in contact with air or water oxygen.

Thanks to its control of the chemical characteristics of vitamin C, Alphascience has developed a technology based on a unique natural associative complex of powerful antioxidants, which ensures the stabilization of highly concentrated L-ascorbic acid.

FERULIC ACID- DNA repair

Found in plant cell wall components, Ferulic acid is reactive towards free radical such as reactive oxygen species (ROS) and can repair DNA cells damaged by premature ageing.

In association with L-ascorbic acid, Ferulic acid reduces oxidative stress and formation of thymine dimers in skin. Ferulic acid has been shown to have a protective effect on UVB-induced erythema.

It protects human dermal fibroblast (HDF) against UVA radiation, reduces UVA-induced oxidative stress on HDF, inhibits cellular senescence by regulating senescence marker gene expression.

Ferulic acid decreases cell cycle arrest and DNA damage in HDFs. It shows properties about regulation of antioxidant gene expression and ROS scavenging effect. Ferulic acid can reverse the effects of aging in the skin by modulating its physiological structure [7].

We stabilized Ferulic Acid in our serum to get the best of its powerful properties to:

– Repair DNA damages induced by age, UV, oxidative stress, etc…

– Restore skin structure

– Enhance antioxidant activity of the formula

– Protect skin against UV damages

GINKGO BILOBA – THE TREE OF ETERNITY

It is one of the more ancient tree species that appeared 270 million year ago. Ginkgo Biloba trees were also among the few living things in the area to survive the blast of Hiroshima. Later, scientific studies proved their resistance to mutagenic agents.

Gingko biloba is used in traditional medicine for its multiple properties: antioxidant, and vasoprotective. It improves irrigation of tissues and small blood vessels resistance.

We use Ginkgo Biloba in high concentration in our TANNIC [CF] SERUM for :

  • Its antioxidant effect
  • irrigation of skin tissues to improve skin radiance, notably for smokers and skins suffering from pollution.

TANNIC [CF] SERUM- TOLERANCY STUDIES

 Performed by independent laboratories:

patch test on 12 subjects during 48 hours

– Mean Irritation Index (MII) = 0

– Alphascience TANNIC [CF] serum is considered as non-irritant.

Use test under medical control on 22 volunteers

  • Excellente tolerance for 90% of volunteers
  • 2 cases of tightness sensation during 1 minute after use.

Evaluation of the ocular potential irritancy by the neutral red release assay.

– The study product presents insignificant cytotoxicity.

Cosmetic product safety report by CERT

Analysis of the composition of cosmetic products, results of stability testing and challenge testing :

– the product has no toxic effect found which could affect human health in normal or reasonably foreseeable use
